A Paper Plane from My Grandson Uncovered My Daughter-in-Law’s Secret and Got Me Banned from Seeing Him
After the passing of my husband, adjusting to life alone at 71 was challenging. The only solace I found was in my grandson, Timmy, who became the light in my life. However, without warning, I was abruptly cut off from him. My daughter-in-law declared that I was no longer welcome and that Timmy didn’t want to see me either.
One day, I visited their home, hoping to see Timmy. My daughter-in-law opened the door and, without allowing me to speak, told me to leave. As I turned away, heartbroken, I heard Timmy’s voice from an upstairs window. He called out, “Grandma, catch this,” and threw a paper airplane towards me.

I caught the paper plane and, upon unfolding it, found a message scrawled in Timmy’s handwriting: “Grandma, please help me. I’m not safe. Don’t tell mom and dad.” The words sent a chill down my spine, leaving me deeply concerned about what was happening behind closed doors.
That night, unable to sleep, I decided to visit their home again. I entered through a side gate with a broken latch, a remnant from when my late husband tried to fix it. I called out for Timmy, and he appeared at the window. He told me about the constant fighting between his parents and a man who frequently visited their house. Timmy expressed his fear and desire to escape the turmoil.
The next day, I reached out to Billy, a retired police officer and close friend of my late husband. I shared the note from Timmy, and Billy promised to investigate. He later informed me that my son was involved in a drug investigation, and my daughter-in-law was associated with dangerous individuals charged with drug dealing.
Shocked and concerned for Timmy’s well-being, Billy and I contacted social services. They determined that Timmy had been exposed to drug abuse, domestic violence, and other criminal activities. Consequently, Timmy was removed from his parents’ custody, and I was granted temporary custody.
Although raising a child at my age is challenging, I am committed to providing Timmy with a safe and loving environment. Both my son and daughter-in-law faced legal consequences for their actions.
