Sadly, the NFL community has learned of the tragic death of Doug Kyed’s two-year-old daughter

Kyed is a well-known NFL writer. Little Hallie Kyed tragically died in January 2021 after a nine-month fight with leukaemia.

Hallie and her family did not have an easy trip. When Hallie was given a leukaemia diagnosis in April 2023, their entire life fell apart. Hallie battled hard and shown amazing strength despite her early age. But following a bone marrow transplant, her condition deteriorated, and she experienced a recurrence.

Holding hands with her parents, Doug and Jen, Hallie went away quietly in her sleep on Sunday morning. They are utterly distraught and lost after losing their cherished daughter. Doug said, “Our lives will never be the same,” expressing the significant effect Hallie had on them.

Doug had previously reported on their resolve to maintain their optimistic outlook despite the challenging road. They thought Hallie could pass the hardest test since she had conquered every challenge posed by acute myeloid leukaemia.

The family did, however, cherish their time with Hallie last week while she was in the hospital, although the prognosis remained dire.

Hallie faced significant obstacles from acute myeloid leukaemia, a malignancy that begins in the bone marrow and spreads fast to the blood, lymph nodes, liver, spleen, and central nervous system.

In spite of this, Doug and Jen volunteered endless nights of steadfast care and support at Boston’s Children Hospital.

Doug’s wife Jen expressed how losing Hallie hurt like there was a hole in her heart. Their awful loss has left them wondering why such a terrible thing could occur. The NFL community sends them its deepest sorrow as they mourn their beloved daughter.
